Miguel J Diaz (Miguel) grew up in Cuba where he received a law degree from the University of Havana and started his career as an Attorney in 2009. He was later granted a full scholarship to study at the “Instituto Universitario de Investigación Jose Ortega y Gasset” in Madrid, Spain. He was selected as one of three scholarships awarded to Latin America. In Spain, he received a Masters Degree in Public Administration and Political Science. Miguel is trilingual in English, Spanish and French.

In the United States, Miguel J. Diaz received a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law. While in Law School, he participated in the Miami-Leipzig program which is coordinated between the University of Miami School of Law and the University of Leipzig in Germany. As part of the program Miguel had the opportunity to discuss recent legal problems on both sides of the Atlantic.

Prior to obtaining his Juris Doctor degree, Miguel worked for the General Consulate of Guatemala in Miami where he was able to assist a large number of immigrants. Miguel sees himself reflected in the clients he helps. After this role, Miguel had the opportunity to work at Bacardi USA in the Global Operations Department. There, he was responsible for drafting and amending contracts for different business transactions; drafting legal memorandums for potential business decisions; and performing legal research. This allowed him to participate closely in complex and international business transactions and to gain valuable experience in the corporate world.

After obtaining his Juris Doctor degree & being admitted to the Florida Bar, Miguel worked for a prominent Immigration Law Firm in Miami. In this role, he was exposed to multiple complex cases in Business Immigation; Family Immigration; and Removal Proceeding. There, he managed a high volume of petitions including EB1A; EB1C; EB2/NIW; EB3; E2; VAWA; O1A; L1A; I-130; N-400. Additionally, he represented clients before the USCIS all over the United States, and in removal proceedings before EOIR courts.

In addition to his passion for representing foreign nationals, Migual loves sports, specially soccer and water sports. Miguel is a Divemaster and in his free time he collaborates with institutions working to save the oceans such as the Coral Reef Foundation and the Ocean Conservation Foundation.
